Deposit for Hospitalization Fees

If you are not covered by an insurance or assistance organization, a deposit will be required upon admission. The amount varies depending on the type of room, the nature, and duration of your stay. Please note that some surgical procedures may not be covered by insurance or assistance organizations. In such cases, a deposit will be required at admission, and the full hospitalization fees will need to be paid upon discharge.

Rooms

The hospital offers shared rooms and private rooms (1st class). All rooms are equipped with a private bathroom, WC, TV, telephone, and air conditioning. Private rooms also include a refrigerator. An accompanying person can stay with you in a private room. If you wish to occupy a private room and your insurance does not cover the extra cost, a supplement will be charged.

Day Hospital

Our day hospital unit is designed to provide patients with efficient, high-quality care for procedures and treatments that do not require an overnight stay. Staffed by a skilled medical team, the unit ensures a comfortable experience, from admission to discharge on the same day.

This service is ideal for minor surgeries, diagnostic procedures (such as endoscopies), or treatments requiring short-term observation (such as chemotherapy, transfusions, etc.), allowing patients to recover comfortably at home.

Surgical Admission

If you need surgery, your surgeon will explain the procedure, its alternatives, and any potential risks or complications. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. You will be asked to sign an informed consent form to confirm that you fully understand the procedure.

Preoperative tests (blood tests, imaging, ECG) and a consultation with an anesthesiologist are required several days before the scheduled surgery.

Preparing Your Bag

  • Toiletries (towels, washcloths, toothbrush, soap, razor, comb, brush, etc.)

  • Nightwear (pyjamas, slippers, bathrobe or tracksuit for walking around the hospital)

  • Bring all the medications you are currently taking

  • Water and snacks

  • Optional: Items to pass the time, such as books, your laptop, etc.

Your Stay

Your Arrival in the Care Unit

Upon arrival, a member of the nursing team will greet you and place an identification bracelet on your wrist. Please keep it on until your discharge, as it serves as your ID during your movements within the hospital, especially when going to the operating room.

The nursing staff will explain how to use your bed, nurse call system, phone, lighting, and television. They will also ask a few questions regarding your health (allergies, medications, medical history, etc.)

You will be asked to give all your medications to the nursing staff. To avoid medication errors, please refrain from taking your own medications during your stay.

The hospital has a proactive policy to prevent theft. However, due to the constant movement within the hospital, the management cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to valuable items. It is advised not to bring valuables or large sums of money (card payments are accepted). A safe is available for your use at the admissions desk, free of charge.

Telephone

All rooms are equipped with a telephone. To receive calls more efficiently, we recommend you provide your room number to your contacts. They can reach you by dialing the hospital number (09 540 017) followed by your room number.

A public telephone booth is also available on the ground floor. The use of mobile phones should be discreet to avoid disturbing other patients.

Television

All rooms are equipped with a television. A remote control will be provided next to your bed. Please do not remove the remote and leave it in good condition at the end of your stay.

Internet

Wi-Fi access is available for a fee upon request at the information desk during working hours and at the emergency service outside of those hours. If you experience connection issues, please contact the nursing staff in your care unit.

Meals

Meals are served at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 AM

  • Lunch: 12:00 PM

  • Dinner: 5:00 PM

If you have allergies, intolerances, or a special diet, please inform the nursing staff. The dietitian will ensure that a suitable menu is prepared for you.

Smoke-Free Hospital

In accordance with the Lebanese law, smoking is strictly prohibited within the hospital. If you wish to smoke, you must step outside the hospital and away from the hospital doors. Assistance for smoking cessation is also available if needed.

Private Care

Some patients may require closer monitoring, particularly during the night and on weekends. Private care, at an additional cost, can be arranged upon request. Please speak to the nursing staff for further details.

Religious Services

A mass is celebrated in the hospital on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:00 AM in the conference room on the 3rd floor. The priest also visits the rooms and offers communion to those who wish to receive it.

Confidentiality

All healthcare professionals and staff involved in your care are bound by professional confidentiality. Only you (or the person responsible in case of incapacity) can authorize the disclosure of your medical information in writing.

Refusal of Treatment

As a patient, you have the right to refuse any treatment or investigative procedure, including leaving the hospital. You will be informed of the risks this decision may pose to your health. Your refusal must be confirmed in writing, releasing the hospital and the attending physician from any responsibility arising from your decision.

Informed Consent

No surgical, anesthetic, or complex diagnostic or therapeutic procedure can be performed without your written consent (except in emergency situations). Your doctor will explain the necessary information and any risks associated with the procedure. You will be asked to sign an informed consent form. Feel free to ask your doctor any questions you may have before signing the document.

Nosocomial Infections

Our hospital has a dedicated hygiene unit that works continuously to prevent the transmission of infections. Nosocomial infections, which are acquired within the hospital, are primarily transmitted through hand contact. Therefore, we ask all patients and visitors to practice proper hand hygiene, especially in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In certain cases of transmissible infections, patient isolation may be required. A sign will be displayed on the door of the room to notify you of this. We strongly request that you follow the hygiene guidelines indicated on this sign. These measures may seem uncomfortable or unnecessary, but they are taken for the safety and well-being of all patients. For any additional information, please speak with the nursing staff.

During a pandemic or if you are presenting any respiratory symptoms, we advise you not to visit patients, and if you do, wearing a mask is mandatory.

Discharge Procedure

Whenever possible, we will make every effort to arrange your discharge before noon. We kindly ask that you take care of the necessary arrangements for your departure (transportation, payment, etc.) to ensure you can leave your room by noon. If you require an ambulance, please contact the nursing staff. For ambulance services, you can contact the Red Cross (140 or 09 542 205) or the Civil Defense (09 541 986). Please reach out to them early, especially during weekdays.

Before leaving the hospital, we kindly request that you:

  • Check that you have not forgotten any personal items in your room.

  • Visit the nursing station to collect your personal medical documents (prescriptions, instructions for home care, and details about future appointments).

  • Visit the admissions office (either personally or through a relative) to settle your bill and collect any valuable items. You will receive a discharge slip, which must be handed to the nursing staff in your unit.

  • Ensure you do not take the television controller or other hospital belongings with you. Stealing is prohibited and punishable by law, and the hospital is equipped with video surveillance.

  • Complete the satisfaction survey.

All hospital staff are committed to ensuring that your stay is of the highest quality. However, if you have any feedback, suggestions, or complaints about your stay, you can fill out a complaint form (available in every department) and drop it in the box located at the central admissions office.

If you wish to leave the hospital without your doctor’s consent, your decision will be respected upon signing a release form that discharges the hospital from any responsibility.

Stay Fees

If you do not have a coverage provider, or if your provider does not cover the full costs of your stay, you will receive a detailed bill. This bill will indicate the medical costs covered by your provider and the uncovered costs, which will be your responsibility. Any outstanding balance must be paid before your discharge. Payments can be made at the admissions office during working hours or at the emergency admissions office outside of these hours, in cash or by credit card.

Important: Your provider may not cover all hospitalization costs. Please check with your insurance or third-party payer for coverage details.
